Da perspectiva da inovação, o filme "Quem matou o carro elétrico?" do diretor Chris Paine ilustra as dificuldades da indústria para fugir do modelo dominante, por causa da necessidade de romper com os dilemas típicos dessa decisão – não é possível entrar de “marcha ré no futuro”.

Para muitos, poderá ser mais surpreendente a sugestão que as promessas da inovação podem ser também usadas de forma negativa: adiar a solução de problemas atuais com promessas futuras, convenientes aos líderes do “padrão dominante”.

De qualquer forma, vale a pena conferir, pois quem matou o carro elétrico não foi só a GM, nem só o EUA, nem só os sheikes e as companhias de petróleo, foi você também!!!

Jonathan Trager, prominent television producer for ESPN, died last night from complications of losing his soul mate and his fiancee. He was 35 years old. Soft-spoken and obsessive, Trager never looked the part of a hopeless romantic. But, in the final days of his life, he revealed an unknown side of his psyche.

This hidden quasi-Jungian persona surfaced during the Agatha Christie-like pursuit of his long reputed soul mate, a woman whom he only spent a few precious hours with. Sadly, the protracted search ended late Saturday night in complete and utter failure. Yet even in certain defeat, the courageous Trager secretly clung to the belief that life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences. Uh-uh. But rather, its a tapestry of events that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan.

Asked about the loss of his dear friend, Dean Kansky, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and executive editor of the New York Times, described Jonathan as a changed man in the last days of his life. "Things were clearer for him," Kansky noted.

Ultimately Jonathan concluded that if we are to live life in harmony with the universe, we must all possess a powerful faith in what the ancients used to call "fatum", what we currently refer to as destiny.

Lon Fuller sets a tense and hair-raising climate, in which the characters will have to play a deadly game in order to choose the one who is going to be killed, because this is the only way they may scape, by eating someone, because the food ran out. Although this book is very interesting, I must say that it is also VERY frightening, and the experience that you will have here will be very similar to the one that those kids from The Blair Witch Project had, the sensation of loss.I study law, and my teacher told to the class that we should all read it, because it also brings a lot of informations about how the justice works, but what will always be reminded by anyone who read this book is the fear that Lon Fuller develops.Lon Fuller isn't Stephen King, but, boy, here he writes something that is poweful and thrilling...

Nascidos em Bordéis

O GNT exibiu ontem este brilhante documentário vencedor do Oscar 2005 e de 12 outros prêmios em festivais de cinema e TV. Nesta produção, os cineastas Zana Briski e Ross Kauffman com uma idéia simples e criativa, conseguem um resultado impressionante: traçam um retrato das crianças filhas de prostitutas do bairro mais pobre de Calcutá, na Índia, e tentam entender sua forma de ver o mundo através das fotos que elas tiram com câmeras fornecidas pelos diretores.

Enquanto os meninos vão descobrindo essa nova forma de se expressar, os cineastas lutam para lhes dar mais esperança e uma vida melhor diante de um cenário onde a pobreza é a maior ameaça à realização dos sonhos. Apesar de toda a boa intenção e esforço para mudar o destino traçado àquelas crianças eles não tem sucesso em encontrar escolas e internatos para elas.

Por fim, a capacidade infantil de ver as coisas com uma ótica distinta - desarmada e esperançosa - é o que transparece.

O aparente enriquecimento da Índia deixa de lados os menos favorecidos. Não muito distante da realidade brasileira, o documentário é um pedido de socorro de quem sabe que o futuro não guarda promessas...
